Details
A two-tablespoon serving of our whole flaxseed is an excellent source of dietary fiber and contains 3 grams of anti-inflammatory alpha-linoleic acid (ALA) omega-3 fatty acids, an amount that represents more than half of the flaxseed’s fat content. The body does not digest whole flaxseeds well, so it’s best to grind flaxseeds before adding to dishes to ensure your body will absorb the most nutrition. Add to smoothies and sprinkle on oatmeal and parfaits. Its nutritional benefits do not lessen when heated, so add freshly ground flaxseed to baked goods, pancakes and other doughs as well. Our brown flaxseed is available whole or milled.- Farmer-owned, fair trade, organic = fairDeal™

Serving Suggestion
The nutty flavor of our flaxseed really comes through when freshly ground. Sprinkle it over oatmeal or toss into baked goods. You can also add a tablespoon or two of flaxseed (whole or ground) to smoothies for an omega-3 and fiber boost. You can also use ground flaxseed as an egg substitute by replacing each egg with 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water.Storage
Flaxseeds are perishable, and when stored at room temperature, the oils in the seeds can go rancid. To preserve freshness, store our flaxseed in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 6 months.Available in
